Biography, education, career:
In 1972 he defended his Candidate’s Dissertation titled The Anthropological composition and origin of the population of Tagar culture; in 1988 – Doctoral Dissertation titled Ethnic cranioscopy: Racial variability of the sutures of the skull of modern man. In 1971–1983 – junior researcher, in 1983–1990 – senior researcher of the Leningrad part of the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences, in 1990–2000 – leading researcher, since 2000 – chief researcher of the Department of anthropology of MAE. Since 1970 – lecturer, since 1994 – Professor of St. Petersburg State University (part-time).
