Biography, education, career:
On 13 November 1979 Magomet-Rasul Ibragimov defended his Candidate’s Dissertation at the Institute of Ethnography, USSR AS; it was titled The Dynamics of Population Size and Demic Diffusion in Dagestan (1870‑1970). In 1972‑1992 he successively occupied the positions of senior assistant, junior researcher, researcher, and senior researcher at the Department of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of Dagestan Scientific Centre of RAS. In 1991‑1993 he was Scientific Secretary of the Regional Centre for Ethnopolitical Research of Dagestan Scientific Centre of RAS. Since 1993 he is Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for Science at the Faculty of History, Dagestan State University. Since 2011 Ibragimov is Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography, DSC of RAS.
