Biography, education, career:
In 2000 Galina Ermak defended her Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Family and Household Life of the Cossacks of the Southern Far East (2nd half of the 19th – early 20th centuries). Presently, she is a senior research fellow and Head of the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far-East, Far-Eastern Branch of the RAS.
