Efimov Aleksey Vladimirovich

Biography, education, career:

In 1938 Alexsey Efimov was awarded the degree of Doctor of Sciences in History for his research paper Toward the History of Capitalism in the USA. In 1938‑1941 he occupied the position of Full Professor of Moscow State University. In 1936‑1941 he was senior researcher of the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences. From 1939 he was a Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and from 1947 – a Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. In 1956‑1971 he was Head of the Department of America of the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR AS.
