Biography, education, career:

In 1989 Vladimir Buzin defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Houses of the Mesolithic – early Iron Ages in the Forest Zone of the European Part of the USSR (a Sociological Aspect). Since 1994 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Ethnography and Anthropology of the Faculty of History, SPb State University. He also works at the Academic Gymnasium of SPSU, the Faculty of Russian History of Saint-Petersburg University of Culture and Arts, and Russian Christian Academy for Humanities.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of Slavic peoples; Archaeology; History and ethnography of the Russians; History and ethnography of Finno-Ugric peoples; the Russian North; South Russian ethnographic group; ethnography at school
