Bulatov Abdulgamid Osmanovich

Biography, education, career:
On 27 May 1991, at the Institute of Ethnography, Abdulgamid Bulatov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled The Vestiges of Pre-Monotheistic Beliefs of the Peoples of Dagestan in the 19th – early 20th Centuries. On 29 June 2004, at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled Forms of Shamanic and Magic Practices of the Peoples of Dagestan in the 19th–20th Centuries. Since 2006 he is a Senior researcher at the Department of the Caucasus of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, RAS. Presently he holds the position of Head of the Department for the Consolidation of National Unity and Prevention of National and Religious Extremism, Federal Agency on Nationalities’ Affairs.
