Boriskovsky Pavel Iosifovich

Biography, education, career:

In 1934 Pavel Boriskovsky defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled A Historical Basis for the Formation of the So-called Homo Sapeins. In 1952 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled Paleolithic of Ukraine. Historical and Archaeological Sketches. In 1936-1941 and 1946-1991 he was a Lecturer and Associate Professor, and from 1959 – Professor at the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of History, Leningrad State University. In 1946-1991 – senior researcher, Head of the Department of Paloelithic, Research Avvisor of the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1960-1961 – Professor at Hanoi University (DRV). Lead author of the collective monograph Paleolithic of the USSR.
