Biography, education, career:

On 23 June 1983 Viktor Bocharov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Transformation of Traditional Power and Government in Colonial Societies of Eastern Africa. On 26 October 1993 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled Power. Traditions. Government. An Attempt of Ethno-Historical Analysis of the Political Cultures of Contemporary Sub-Saharan Africa. Since 2007 he is Professor of the Faculty of Asian and African Studies, SPSU.
