Biography, education, career:

In 1953 Tatyana Aristova defended her candidate dissertation titled The Kurds of Iran: A Historic and Ethnographic Essay (academic advisor – Prof. S.P. Tolstov); in 1993 she defended her doctoral dissertation titled The Material Culture of the Kurds in the 19th and the 1st half of the 20th centuries. Member of the Editorial Board of the newspaper Svobodny Kurdistan (Свободный Курдистан/ Kurdistana Azad/ Free Kurdistan).

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of the peoples of the Near and Middle East; ethnography of the Kurds

Membership in academic organizations and unions:

Honoured Member of Russian Cultural and Educational Society named after A.V. Dukhnovich, Pryashev, and Transcarpathian Local Cultural and Educational Society, Mukachevo.
