Biography, education, career:
In 1999 Igor Vernyaev defended his Candidate Dissertation at Saint-Petersburg State University; it was titled The Peasant Society of Pskov Region (2nd Half of the 19th – 1st Quarter of the 20th Century): A Historic and Ethnographic Study. Since 2004 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Ethnography and Anthropology, Faculty of History, SPSU.
