Biography, education, career:
In 1954 Gennady Gromov defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled The History of the Peasant House of Vladimir Region in the 9th – 19th Centuries (Toward the Evolution of Peasant House Types). In 1954‑1990 he was a lecturer and then an Associate Professor at the Department of Ethnography of the Faculty of History, Moscow State University. In 1956‑1980-s he was the leader of Arkhangelsk Ethnographic Expedition.
