Biography, education, career:
On 26 May 2000 Elena Danilko defended her Candidate’s Dissertation in Ufa, titled Old Believers in the South Urals: A Historical and Ethnographic Research. In 2007 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of RAS, titled Mechanisms of Self-Preservation of Russian and Finno-Ugric Old Believers Communities in the Volga-Ural Region. In 1996-2003 she worked at the Centre for Ethnological Research and Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Ufa Scientific Centre of RAS. In 2005-2009 E. Danilko occupied the position of Executive Director of the Association of Russian Ethnographers and Anthropologists. Presently she occupies the position of Director of the Ethnographic Research and Educational Centre, N.N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of RAS.
