Biography, education, career:
On February 1992 Korostelev defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Russian population of Chuvashia: ethnosocial and ethnocultural processes in the early 1980s at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 1980 he has successfully occupied the positions of junior researcher (1980-1991), researcher (1991-1998), senior researcher (1998-2001), Head of the Volga region Department (2001-2005), Leading Researcher and Head of the Volga Region Group (2005-2008). At present Korostelev is a Leading Researcher at the Center for the Study of Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
