Biography, education, career:
In 1978 Mikhail Atamanov defended his candidate dissertation titled Ethnonyms for the Udmurts in Toponymy. In 1978-1989 he was Research Scientist at the Linguistic Department of Udmurt Scientific Research Institute. Author of over 60 scientific papers. Since late 1989 Mikhail Atamanov has been a churchman; he translates the Holy Scripture into the Udmurt language.
