Biography, education, career:
On 22 April 1972 Khasan Dumanov defended his Candidate’s Dissertation at the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences; it was titled Common Property Law in Kabardinia in the 19th Century. In 1992 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled The Social Structure of Kabardinians in the Norms of Adat. In 1972‑1992 he worked as a researcher at Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Research Institute. In 1993‑2005 he was presidential adviser and Chair of Kabardino-Balkarian State Committee for Nationalities Issues and. In 1997-2005 he occupied the position of Director of Kabardino-Balkarian Institute for Humanities Research.
