Biography, education, career:
In 1967 Vladimir Bashilov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled The Ancient Civilizations of the Central Andes. In 1998 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled “The Neolithic Revolution” in the Central Andes. He was a leading scientific researcher at the Department of Scythian-Sarmatian Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology, USSR AS/ RAS.
