Biography, education, career:

On January 16, 1979 Kozhanovsky defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Ethnocultural processes in modern Spain (1939‑1975). Since 1971 he has successfully occupied the positions of bibliographer at the Institute of Scientific Information and the Fundamental Library of Social Sciences of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1971‑1973) and junior researcher, senior Researcher at the Department of Europe of the Institute of Ethnography, USSR Academy of Sciences (the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences) (from 1977 to the present).

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of the peoples of North and South America; History and ethnography of the peoples of Europe; History and ethnology of Spain, the Mediterranean, Latin America, Russia and the “near abroad”
