Biography, education, career:

In 1985 she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences titled New songs of a ballad type in the Russian oral tradition of the late XIX - early XX century. She has successfully occupied the positions of librarian, junior researcher, Scientific Secretary at the Library of the Academy of Sciences (1982–1993), then – Head of Research Programs at The M. V. Lomonosov Foundation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1993–1997). In 1997–2010 she headed the Department of Publications and Exhibition Activities at the St. Petersburg Branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 2010 to the present she is a senior researcher and then Chief Collection Manager at the MAE RAS.

Areas of expertise: Historiography, Source studies and Methodology of Ethnography; Ethnic museology; History of Peter the Great’s Kunstkamera collections; History of Russian-Western European cultural and scientific connections in the 18th century
