Biography, education, career:

In 1941 she defended her Сandidate's dissertation titled Wedding ceremony of the Russian North at the Leningrad State University, in 1963 she defended her Doctoral dissertation titled Russian folk song. In 1924—1930 she was a researcher of the Peasant Section of the State Institute of Art History. In 1930—1939 she was the Head of the library at the school of Leningrad Volodarsky district. In 1939 —1942 — Head of the Cabinet of Folk Art at the Department of Folklore of the Philological Faculty of the Leningrad State University. In 1942—1943 she was in charge of the library of the Volodarsky Regional Committee of the Communist Party. In 1943 and 1948 — Professor of folklore studies at the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after A. I. Herzen. In 1946, 1952 — senior researcher at the State Research Institute of Theatre and Music. In 1953—1967 she was a senior researcher of the Sector of Oral Folk-Poetic Creativity of the Institute of Russian literature of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
