Biography, education, career:

On July 4 1955 defended his Candidate’s Dissertation titled The State of Ranjit Singh and the conquest of Punjab by the British (Punjab in the late 18th ‑ first half of the 19th century), on January 23 1978 defended his Doctoral Dissertation titled Sri Lanka: ethnic history and socio-economic relations until the beginning of XX century. 1941‑1945 he spent at The Eastern Front of World War II. In 1946‑1951 he was a student at the Indian Department of the Moscow Institute of Oriental studies. In 1955‑1982 he was a junior researcher, senior researcher at the Department of Foreign Asia, Australia and Oceania of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
