Biography, education, career:

In 2006 Olga Karpova defended her Candidate’s Dissertation at Saint-Petersburg State University; it was titled Ukrainian Pottery According to the Materials of the Russian Museum of Ethnography (late 19th – 20th centuries). Since 1978 she has successively occupied the positions of junior researcher, researcher, and senior researcher at the Department of Ethnography of Ukraine, Byelorussia and Moldavia, State Museum of Ethnography of the Peoples of the USSR / Russian Museum of Ethnography.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of Slavic peoples; culture of Ukrainians and other Slavic peoples
