Biography, education, career:

In 1955 Natalya Gratsianskaya defended her Candidate Dissertation, titled Housing and Household Outbuildings of Slovak Peasantry in the 19th – early 20th Century. In 1995 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation, titled The Slovaks. Towards Ethnocultural History. In 1955‑2006 she successively occupied the positions of researcher (1955-1974), senior researcher (1974‑1995), and leading researcher (1995‑2006) at the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR AS / Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of RAS.
