Biography, education, career:

In 1928 Boris Grakov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Ancient Greek Ceramic Stamps with the Names of Astynomoi. In 1939 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled Stamped Ceramic Ware of the Hellenistic Period as a Source on the History of Manufacturing and Trade. In 1941‑1969 he was a Professor at the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of History, Moscow State University.
