Biography, education, career:
In 1939‑1941 Irma Gartung was a student of the Faculty of History and Philology of Saratov State University. In 1941 she was deported to Tomsk. In 1942‑1945, as a member of the Labour Army, she worked at a military plant in Novosibirsk. In 1945‑1950 she was a student of the Department of Biology and Soil, Tomsk State University. She was a student of N.S. Rozov. She was a member of an Anthropological Circle. From 1946, before retiring, she worked as a teacher of biology, chemistry, and German at an 8-grade school of Kaltay village.
