Biography, education, career:
On 23 May 1972 Svetlana Dmitrieva defended her Candidate’s Dissertation at the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences; it was titled Geographic Distribution of the Russian Bylinas (Based on the Materials of late 19th – early 20th centuries). Since 2002 she is a leading researcher at the Department of Russians of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of RAS.
