Biography, education, career:

In Konstantin Bannikov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Archaic Mythoritual Systems in the Formation and Development of Traditional Japanese Culture, at the Institute of Ethnology and Archaeology, RAS; in 2009 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled The Principles of Cultural Genesis in Regime Societies: A Social-Anthropologic Analysis of the Russian Army of the 2nd Half of the 20th Century. Participant of over 20 expeditions (to Siberia, the Far East, the Extreme North, South Africa, East and Southeast Asia); Director of the ARC Centre for Anthropologic Research, Editor-in-Chief of Travel Journal, TransAlpina newspaper and Destinations journal.

Areas of expertise: Mythology; Ethnic religious studies; History and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia, the Extreme North, and the Far East; mythoritual systems, sociogenesis and cultural genesis, technologies for developing ideologies and subcultures; ethnographic field research of aboriginal populations of Siberia, East and Southeast Asia, the Extreme North; popularization of science, science journalism, ethnic photography, science tourism, PR-projects, organizing expeditions and trips.

Membership in academic organizations and unions:

Member of the International Federation of Journalists.
