Biography, education, career:
On 12 June, at the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Ethnography, Fedor Vasilyev defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Military Art of Yakuts in the 13th – 1st Half of the 17th Centuries. In 1988-1991 he was a junior researcher, in 1991-1994 – a researcher, and from 1994 – a senior researcher at the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Yakut Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of RAS (presently – the Institute for Humanities Research and Indigenous Studies of the North, SB RAS).
