Biography, education, career:
On 23 November 2004, at N.N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, RAS, Igor Boiko defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Natural Conditions and the System of Material Sustenance of the Boykos (late 18th – mid 20th Centuries). Since 2005 he is a research fellow at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, PAS. He conducted a series of field research in Western Ukraine.
Areas of expertise: Ethnogeography; Ethnoecology; Ethnic musicology of West and East Carpathians (Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic)
