Kislyakov Vladimir Nikolaevich

Biography, education, career:
In 1964—1969 Vladimir Kislyakov was a student of the Faculty of Oriental Languages, Leningrad State University. In 1969—1970 he worked at the State Public Library named after M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin. In 1971—1973 Kislyakov did a post-graduate course at the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1973 he has worked at the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences (now – MAE RAS). In December 1983 he defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled The History of Ethnographic Study of the Peoples of the Near and Middle East in Russia and the USSR. Presently, V. Kislyakov holds the position of senior researcher at the Department of East and South-East Asia of Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography, RAS.
