Biography, education, career:
On 27 June 1985 Leonid Ermolov defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled The Economy of Tungusic-Manchurian Peoples of Manchuria in Late 19th – Early 20th Centuries. He successively occupied the positions of junior researcher (1982‑1991), researcher (1991‑1993), and senior researcher (1994‑1998) at the Department of Foreign Asia of the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR AS / MAE RAS. In 1993‑1994 he was Head of the Department of Foreign Exhibition Programs, International Relations and Scientific Projects of the MAE.
