Biography, education, career:
In 1967 Valeria Eryomina defended her Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Allegories in Folk Poetry (From metaphor to Symbol). In 1991 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation, titled Ritual and Folklore. Since 1992 she is a leading researcher at the Department of Russian Folklore of the Institute of Russian Literature, RAS.
