Biography, education, career:
In 1944 Konstantin Vertkov defended his Candidate Dissertation and was conferred the degree of Candidate of Art History. In 1946-1950 he was Head of the Department of Organology at Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography; from 1950 he was a researcher at the same department. In 1946-1947 he was a Lecturer, and in 1947-1953 – Associate Professor at Leningrad Conservatoire. He organized the now permanent exhibition of musical instruments at Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography.
