Biography, education, career:
In 1969, in Makhachkala, Angara Bulatova defended her Candidate Dissertation, titled Laks in the 19th – early 20th Centuries. Historical and Ethnographic Sketches. In 1979 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation, titled Traditional Feasts and Rituals of the Peoples of Highland Dagestan in the 19th – early 20th Centuries. In 1960‑1999 she was junior, senior, and later leading researcher at the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography of the Dagestani Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 1997 she was also Professor at the Department of History and the Theory of Culture, Dagestan State Pedagogical University.
