Biography, education, career:

Since 1935 Evgeniya Blomkvist was Candidate of Ethnography on the Dissertation Defense Board. In 1935 1942 she was a leading research scientist at the Department of North America, Institute of Ethnography, Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1945 1956 she occupied the position of Head of the Department of the East Slavs, Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Ethnography, Academy of Sciences of the USSR. She had an extensive field work experience and was an experienced museologist.
