Biography, education, career:
On June 2, 1987 Kozhanovskaya defended her Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Hierarchical features of the social structure of traditional Polynesian societies. Since 1971 she has successfully occupied the positions of senior librarian at the Institute of Scientific Information and the Fundamental Library of Social Sciences of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1971‑1973), editor at the History Department of the Institute for Scientific Information in Social Sciences of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1973‑1979); junior researcher at the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences (the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences) (1988‑1996).
