In 1879–1881 Alexander Adrianov participated in G.N. Potanin’s expedition to Mongolia; later he mounted expeditions to Minusinsky District, Tuva, and the Altai. From 1907 he was Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Imperial Tomsk University. He is the author of scientific papers on the archaeology and ethnography of the peoples of South Siberia and gatherings of archaeological and ethnographic collections.
