Biography, education, career:

On 26 May 1998 Sufyan Zhemukhov defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled Khan-Girei’s Socio-Political and Ethnocultural Views. In 2000‑2003 he occupied the position of Director of the Institute of Advanced Training of Educators, Kabardino-Balkarian State University. In 2005‑2006 he was a Fulbright Scientist at Kennan Institute, Washington D.C., USA. In 2006‑2007 he occupied the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Kabardino-Balkarskaya Pravda newspaper (literally – Kabardino-Balkarian Truth). Since 2008 he is Deputy Director of the Institute for Humanities Research, Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center, RAS.
