Biography, education, career:

In 1934 Nikolay Voronin defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled Sketches on the History of the Russian Architecture of the 16th Century. In he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled The Architecture of the North-East of Rus’ in the 12th – 15th Centuries. In 1932–1973 he was a senior researcher at the State Academy of the History of Material Culture (Institute for the History of Material Culture) – Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences, first in Leningrad, and later in Moscow. From 1948 he was a Professor; from 1974 – Honorary Citizen of Vladimir.
