Biography, education, career:

On 17 December 1953 Mikhail Vorobyov defended his Candidate Dissertation, titled The Stone Age in the Countries of the Sea of Japan. On 1 July 1972 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled The Jurchen and the Jin Dynasty. His father was a public servant. In 1943‑1945 Vorobyov participated in the Great Patriotic War. In 1986‑1995 he occupied the position of Senior researcher at the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR AS / RAS.
