Biography, education, career:

In 1996 she defended her Candidate’s Dissertation titled Ritual Purity in Zoroastrianism and Islam (Death and Funeral Rite) at MAE RAS. Since 1994 she has successfully occupied the positions of a junior researcher at the Museum of the History of Religion; since 2001 she has successively occupied the position of senior researcher at the Department of Central Asia, MAE RAS. In 2000‑2010 she had a combined position of lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies of the Russian Christian Academy of Humanities in St. Petersburg.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of Iranian peoples; Ethnic religious studies; Avesta, Ancient Iranian mythology and ritual; Zoroastrianism
