Biography, education, career:

On December 23, 1999 Korusenko defended his Candidate’s Dissertation, titled The funeral rite of the Turkic population of the lower reaches of the Tara river in the 17th-20th centuries (on archaeological and ethnographic materials) in the city of Novosibirsk. Since 1989 he has successfully occupied the positions of senior laboratory assistant (1989-1991), junior researcher at the Research and Development Department of the Omsk State University (1991-1992), junior researcher of the Ethnography Department (1992-1994), researcher (1994-2000), senior researcher (2000-2003) and Head of the Department of Historical Museum Studies of the Omsk Branch of the Joint Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Concurrently he has successfully occupied the positions of lecturer (2000-2005) and associate professor (from 2005 to the present) at the Department of Museology of the Omsk State University. Since 1994 he is a senior researcher at the Department of National Cultures and National Relations of the Russian Institute of Cultural Studies of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia, the Extreme North, and the Far East; Ethnic museology; Traditional spiritual culture of the Turkic population of Western Siberia; Ethnographic and archaeological reconstruction; cataloging of ethnographic collections of Siberian museums, new information technologies in the museum
