Biography, education, career:

In 2002, at Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography, Yulia Buchatskaya defended her Candidate Dissertation, titled Northern Germany as a Region of Slavic-Germanic Interaction. Presently, she is a senior researcher at the Department of Europe, MAE RAS.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of the peoples of Europe; Ethnic museology; ethnography of Germany in museum collections; ethnocultural processes in the history of Northern Germany; identity and historical memory; professional cultures; feasts
