Biography, education, career:

In 1958 Vasily Bondarchik defended his Candidate Dissertation, devoted to one of the outstanding ethnologists, Evdokim Romanovich Romanov. In 1965-2000 he defended his Doctoral Dissertation, titled The History of Belorussian Ethnography of the 2nd Half of the 19th – early 20th Centuries. In 1969—1976 he held the position of Director of the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the BSSR Academy of Sciences. In 1976—1991 – Head of the Department of Ethnography, from 1991 - гг. заведующий отделом этнографии, с 1991 г. — Institute Administration Advisor. In В 1997—2005 – Chief Researcher at the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the BSSR Academy of Sciences.
