Biography, education, career: In 1879–1881 Alexander Adrianov participated in G.N. Potanin’s expedition to Mongolia; later he mounted expeditions to Minusinsky District, Tuva, and the Altai. From 1907 he was Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Imperial Tomsk University. He is the author of scientific papers on the archaeology and ethnography of the peoples of South Siberia and gatherings of archaeological and ethnographic collections.

Areas of expertise: History and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia, the Extreme North, and the Far East

Awards and titles: Recipient of awards and distinctions from the Imperial Russian Geographical Society for the results received during the expedition of 1879–1881. Membership in academic organizations and unions: Member of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society (from 1879).
