On 20 March 1943 Anna Gluskina defended her Candidate Dissertation, titled ''The Japanese Kagura''. On 15 February 1972 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation, titled ''The Man'yōshū'' (based on her monograph). In 1929‑1933 she occupied the position of Head of the Department of the Far East of the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1932‑1935 she was a Lecturer and in 1935‑1938 – Associate Professor of Leningrad Oriental Institute. In 1942‑1950 she was an Associate Professor at Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies; and in 1950‑1977 – senior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR AS (Moscow).
